About Roof Replacements Adelaide

What we are

Roof Replacements Adelaide is a referral website. We take enquiries from homeowners, landlords, property managers and businesses across metropolitan Adelaide and the Adelaide Hills who need roof work, and we pass each one to an independent local roofing contractor who covers that area and that kind of job. The contractor inspects the roof, prepares a written quote and, if you accept it, carries out the work under a contract between you and them.

We do not employ roofers and we do not carry out roofing work ourselves. Saying so plainly matters, because it tells you who is responsible for the job: the contractor who signs the contract.

What we ask of contractors

We ask the contractors we work with to:

• inspect the roof before quoting a replacement, and look in the roof space where it can be reached safely
• explain whether a repair would do before recommending a full replacement
• put the scope in writing, including what is excluded and how variations are priced
• hold the licences and insurance the job needs, and show them to you on request

You should still check for yourself. In South Australia, building work contractors are licensed by Consumer and Business Services, and the CBS public register lets you look up a licence. Asbestos removal is licensed separately under rules administered by SafeWork SA. Ask to see current insurance certificates before work starts.

Why the guides exist

Most people replace a roof once, perhaps twice, in their lives. That leaves them at a disadvantage when quotes arrive full of terms like sarking, anticon, battens, valleys and barge capping. The guides on this site are there to close that gap: how to tell when a roof is finished, what the job involves, how long it takes, what the materials do in Adelaide's climate and what to ask before signing. They are general information, written for local conditions, and they try to be honest about uncertainty.
