Roofing services across Adelaide
Roof Replacements Adelaide arranges roofing work for houses and other buildings across metropolitan Adelaide and the Adelaide Hills. The work is carried out by independent local roofing contractors. Whatever the job, the pattern is the same: a contractor inspects the roof and, where possible, the roof space; you receive a written quote that names what is included and excluded; and nothing starts until you have agreed to it.
Full roof replacement
- Re-roofing. The whole covering renewed on the existing frame. This is the most common full-roof job in Adelaide, whether it is tile to steel, old iron to new steel or new tiles.
- Tile roof replacement. For concrete and terracotta roofs whose tiles have become porous, brittle or broken beyond sensible repair, replaced with new tiles or converted to steel.
- Metal roof replacement. For galvanised iron and Zincalume roofs that are rusting through, with new sheets, screws, flashings and gutters.
- Colorbond roofing. New pre-painted steel roofs, with profile, colour and steel grade chosen for the house and its exposure.
When something has happened to the roof
- Emergency roof replacement. Make-safe work after storm, hail or tree damage, followed by a planned repair or replacement once the roof is dry.
- Insurance roof replacement. A contractor's inspection report, photos and quote in the form an insurer's assessor needs when sudden damage is being claimed.
Other buildings and smaller jobs
- Commercial roofing. Factories, warehouses, shops and strata buildings, re-sheeted or repaired in stages.
- Roof repairs. Leaks, cracked or slipped tiles, failed pointing, lifted sheets and rusted flashings on a roof that still has years left in it.
Before you call
It helps to know roughly when the house was built, what the roof is made of, whether there are solar panels, and what you have noticed: stains, drips, rust, broken tiles or a sagging line. Photos from the ground are useful. If you think the roof might be asbestos cement, say so up front. The roof replacement cost guide gives 2026 planning ranges, and the guides explain each stage in more depth.

Before you book: the usual questions
Which service should I ask for?
Describe the problem rather than picking a service. If the roof is basically sound, the contractor will quote a repair; if the covering is worn out, a re-roof or replacement. You only need to choose between tile and steel once you know replacement is the answer.
Is re-roofing the same as roof replacement?
People use the words interchangeably. On this site, re-roofing means renewing the whole roof covering on an existing frame, which is what most residential roof replacements are. Tile and metal roof replacement are the same job described by material.
Do you arrange roof restoration or painting?
The services here are about repairing and replacing roofs. If an inspection shows a tile roof only needs re-bedding, re-pointing and a few new tiles, that is quoted as a roof repair.
Can the same contractor remove an asbestos roof and install the new one?
Removal must be done by a removalist holding the licence SafeWork SA requires. Some roofing contractors hold it; others bring in a licensed removalist. Either way, ask for one written scope that covers removal, disposal and the new roof.
Do you work on commercial and strata buildings?
Yes. Contractors also quote factory, warehouse, shop, office and strata roofs, with work staged around the people using the building. See the commercial roofing page for what those jobs involve.
